Shannon Stuart joined the Law Offices of Marc P. Katz, LLC in 2017. Leveraging more than fifteen years of experience in non-profit executive leadership and organizational development, she focuses her law practice in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, business formation, and general corporate law.
Shannon’s practice also includes representing clients in asset-based and acquisition financing on secured and unsecured bases with commercial banks and alarm industry lenders, as well as, in seller-financed transactions. Shannon’s experience in business operations provides valuable insight when negotiating and drafting contracts, including transition service and licensing agreements, leases, credit facility agreements, guaranty and subordination agreements. In addition to transactional work, she also advises clients on corporate and operational matters including customer contracts, corporate governance, employment agreements, confidentiality and non-compete agreements, and state and local licensing compliance.
Prior to joining the Law Offices of Marc P. Katz, LLC, Shannon’s previous experience included:
• Certified Legal Intern with the Rush County Prosecutor’s Office, with responsibility for a daily case load representing the State of Indiana in pre-trial conferences, hearings, and trials and with the Indiana State Board of Education, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the Sagamore Institute, where she conducted policy research, analyzed rule-making history and procedures, initiated grant development, and drafted formal appeals and advisory memorandum.
• Executive and operational leadership roles with Indiana Soccer, Carmel United Soccer Club, and Indiana Fire Juniors with responsibility for operations, human resources, strategic planning, financial reporting, sponsorship, event logistics, communications, marketing, and expanding organizational reach through membership growth, affiliation and community partnership.
